Lake Wales, FL (March 23, 2012) – Lake Wales Medical Center is soliciting nominations to honor one of its nurses through the annual Patient Choice Award program. This award recognizes the level of quality care, comfort and compassion offered by nurses each day throughout the hospital. Continuing the tradition of the past few years, the hospital is asking for input from the community, and one nurse chosen from the nominations will receive the Patient Choice Award during the hospital’s celebration of Nurses’ Week / National Hospital Week, May 6-12.

Because patients are the ones directly impacted by outstanding patient care, the hospital is asking former patients and family members to be involved in spotlighting an exceptional nurse.

“The patients and their family members see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level,” said Lee Clack, the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer. “They know who goes the extra mile to make sure a patient experience exceeds expectations.”
