Lake Wales, FL (July 19, 2011) – You read about it all the time, and see it on the news. People who become victims of crime. Purse snatchings. Burglaries. Home invasions. Identity theft. Or how about the headlines about people who are trapped in their homes for days after severe storms, without the supplies they need?
Learn how to keep these scenarios from happening to you at an upcoming Healthy Woman program at Lake Wales Medical Center.
“Safety Awareness: Don’t Become a Headline” program will be held on Thursday, July 28, at 6 p.m. in the LWMC 2nd floor classroom. Sgt. Dave Black, Lake Wales Police Dept., will discuss safety awareness and how to reduce your chances of becoming a victim of crime. A representative from the Polk County Emergency Management Office also will speak on hurricane preparedness, including what should be in your hurricane kit.
Refreshments will be served. This program is free, but reservations are required. Please call 678-2288 to sign up today!
