LWMC’s 2011 Health Fair This Saturday

Lake Wales, FL (February 8, 2011) – Lake Wales Medical Center’s 2011 Community Health Fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at High Point Church, 501 Burns Ave. in Lake Wales. The event will include more than 30 exhibitors, health screenings, and free hotdogs and drinks. The bloodmobile will be on hand to accept donations. LWMC’s pharmacy will be available for “brown bag medication reviews.” Participants are invited to bring their prescription and over-the-counter medication to discuss with the pharmacist and potential interactions with other medications of foods. LWMC’s respiratory department will offer peak flow testing.

Free skin cancer screenings will be offered by Jodie DeMay Schmidt, ARNP, of Dr. James Morgan’s office. Additionally, free BP and glucose checks will be offered. Studio 300 will offer BMI evaluations as well as an interactive cardio kickboxing class. Several LWMC physicians offices will be on hand, along with a variety of health-related vendors. The Oasis Spa will be giving away free chair massages.
