LWMC Seeks Weekend Volunteers

Lake Wales, FL (January 7, 2011) – Lake Wales Medical Center is seeking volunteers to fill weekend positions at the front desk and in the hospital Gift Shop. Front desk volunteers greet all visitors and issue passes for visitation to the patient floors. Gift shop volunteers assist visitors with purchases. Available shifts for the front desk are Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Available shifts for the gift shop are Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and must complete an application and submit a letter of recommendation, and pass a background screening.

Hospital volunteers receive a free meal ticket for the hospital cafeteria for each shift worked, a volunteer uniform, and a free flu shot once per year. Volunteers ages 50 or older who work at least 4 hours per week will receive free membership to LWMC’s Senior Circle program.
