Dear Friends, 

We at Lake Wales Medical Center are tremendously excited to be celebrating our 80^th anniversary this year. As part of that celebration, we’re offering a gift to the community – our brand new wing of all-private patient rooms, which opened in May. This $4 million renovation project is providing a new wing of 32 private patient rooms, advanced patient care technology, and the quality care our community has come to expect from our facility. We’re sure you’ll agree: You’ve never experienced healthcare like this before!

We are proud of our heritage in the community. Over the past eight decades, we’ve provided quality care to our community, and we’re always striving to make ourselves even better. We’ve listened to our community, and we’ve responded – with improvements and service line expansions to meet the growing needs of the communities we serve.

Over the past six years, we’ve invested more than $31 million making improvements and bringing new services to the hospital. Many of them are detailed on the timeline below.  

Additionally, we’ve added new physicians in areas such as family practice, internal medicine, orthopedics, general surgery, vascular/thoracic surgery, cardiology, neurology, gynecology, urology, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and pediatrics.

We continue to be a driving force in the local economy. Just six years ago, we employed 300 people. Today, we’re proud to say we employ 471 people who call this area home.
